“I reluctantly followed my children to the program,” Vivian* says as she reflects on a very special November evening. She is a widow and mother to eight beautiful children. They live in Abaranje in Lagos, Nigeria, where poverty is rampant.

When the children heard about a film being shown free of charge within walking distance, they asked if they could go.

As Vivian watched the JESUS Film with her children, she remembers, “I had a feeling that the miracle Jesus Christ performed in the film was done for me.”

She continues, “My children and I gave our lives to Jesus during the JESUS Film program. Before that time, I desired to have a copy of the Bible, but I could not afford to buy one.” Vivian could not believe it when, thanks to the generosity of our faithful partners, she was given a Bible of her own that night — and so were each one of her eight children!

“This was a miracle!” she says. “I was so excited. When I read it for the first time, I felt peace in my soul. It was a big relief to me. The Bible means so much to me; it has become my source of strength.

I read it daily and encourage my children to read theirs. I have realized that following God brings about transformation. I am happy with this new life.”
