Providing Needed Scriptures
Since 1817, the Bible Society has been providing Scriptures to America's Armed Services. More recently, ABS has granted more
than 2,200,000 Scripture resources to Chaplains in all branches of the Armed Services and the Veterans Affairs Medical Centers. Of that number, more than 1,500,000 have been Bibles and New Testaments.
Chaplain Puchy emphasizes that none of these materials are off-the-shelf items; every one has been custom-tailored to meet the unique needs of military service personnel or Veterans.
On Veteran's day, 2011, the Bible Society will also offer the four distinctive camouflage patterns of its Military Bible, which includes the E100 reading program, Code for U.S. Fighting Forces and the Law of Armed Conflict.
