Amazing things happen when we work together for the cause of Christ. Desiring to distribute 1 million Bibles in Brazil, the Bible Society launched the outreach by giving away 375,000 New Testaments. The event was such a tremendous success that the churches in Brazil were inspired to raise additional funds locally — enough to provide an additional 625,000 New Testaments!

Now, 1 million men, women, and children in Brazil have access to Scripture!

For Antonio*, the gift of a Bible transformed his life. Antonio lived on the streets for over 22 years. When a thief stole his bag, which contained his only possessions, his anger and hatred began to fester out of control . . . consuming him. He had no peace.

When a Chaplain handed Antonio the Bible, he only read a single passage at first. But that one passage gave him a hunger to read more. Before long, he declared, “The Bible is better than food. Even if you don’t have a home, the Bible will give you warmth.”

Antonio gave his life to Christ, and now says, “I feel totally changed. People ask what happened, and I tell them, ‘Read the Bible. It will show you the difference.’”

Now, Antonio is off the streets, living in his own apartment, and he attends a local church where he can continue to grow in his relationship with Jesus.
