Vietnam: Sign Language Bible Empowers Deaf Community
The deaf community in Vietnam sees that the Lord is good through new video Scripture translations.
Most of the 1.2 million deaf people living in Vietnam are unable to read, and they are often ostracized from society and denied any educational opportunities. That is why American Bible Society is partnering with Vietnam Partnership to share God’s love with the deaf community in Vietnam through an innovative video translation. By sharing Bible stories through sign language, this project brings the gospel to life in a way that immediately connects with the deaf population.
“As a deaf person, it is very hard to understand written books,” reports one deaf Christian named Nguyen. “When we translate into sign language with our grammar, we are helping both the Christians to grow deeper in God and helping non-believers have a chance to know about Jesus through the Bible stories.” Your generous partnership brings hope to people otherwise cut off from God’s Word.
Thanks to the support of our faithful financial partners, American Bible Society has been engaging people with the life-changing message of God’s Word for more than 200 years.
Help us share God's Word where needed most.
