It’s the “Year of the Bible” Again
Join us as we pray for millions to engage the infallible truths found in Scripture
Last year, we prayed 2020 would be the Year of the Bible. A year where people found their story in God’s story by passionately engaging Scripture for an entire year.
And God answered! Nearly 41 million people across 187 countries turned to the Bible for inspiration. In an unprecedented year with challenges like the global pandemic, social and political tensions, and natural disasters, God’s Word offered hope and strength.
But Year of the Bible didn’t end in 2020.
2021 is Year of the Bible
The Bible enables hope in our lives. That’s why the Year of the Bible campaign is committed to pointing people back to Scripture not just in 2020, but every year.
American Bible Society is partnering with Christian organizations to create resources that engage people in the Bible. A free toolkit is now available for church leaders and pastors who want to take their community deeper into the Bible. It includes sermon guides, Bible plans, a church care package, and audio Bible resources.
But it all starts with prayer.
Become a Year of the Bible Intercessor
Jesus moves when we pray. Scripture reminds us of this in Matthew 18:19 (CEV), “I promise that when any two of you on earth agree about something you are praying for, my Father in heaven will do it for you.”
So, we’re inviting you to join us again as we pray for people around the world to make 2021 their Year of the Bible. We’re praying for lives to be transformed as they engage with the Bible’s life-giving messages. To guide your prayers, we’ve created this prayer guide. We’re asking God to ignite hunger for his Word and for his Word to bring healing and hope to all those who need it. Will you join us?
Let’s Pray Together
Father, thank you for speaking to us through the Bible. For those who need to hear your voice and how much you love them, we pray that they will connect with Scripture. God, we pray that the Bible will revive hope, heal wounds, and bring vision. May your Word spread across the world reaching every heart with the promise of life with your son Jesus.
