“All my life, I’ve been waiting to read God’s Word in my own language.”
Connecting Roma people with the Bible in their heart language.
For many Romani living in Serbia, the hardships they face as an ethnic minority group are varied and distressing. About 1 in 5 Romani cannot read, and high unemployment makes it extremely difficult for them to break the cycle of poverty.
This means that many Romani wish to connect with the Bible but struggle due to illiteracy and poverty.
However, thanks to our partners heart for the Lord, the Romani in Serbia are receiving Bibles in their heart language for the first time!
Friends like you helped complete the translation of the Romani Bible, which can also be used to help increase literacy in their heart language.
“I feel called to teach Roma children about God, to help them learn about Him and accept Him as their most important teacher,” says Sergey*, a leader of his Bible school.
Ana* was also overjoyed to receive a Romani Bible.
“I am 63, and all my life, I’ve been waiting to read God’s Word in my own language,” Ana says. “I felt as if I had been given a special gift from Him. This is the most important thing that has ever happened to me.”
We are thankful to our faithful friends help in providing Roma people in Serbia with the Bibles that will change their lives and eternities.
