Celebrating the Mabaan Bible Translation in South Sudan
Pray that God's Word will bring many hearts to Christ.
The Bible Society in South Sudan has celebrated the translation of the Bible into the Mabaan language for the first time. Despite dangerous conditions and a devastating civil war, the Bible Society staff stayed in the country to continue God’s work.
An estimated 88 thousand people speak Mabaan as their primary language. While many follow traditional ethnic beliefs, Christianity is taking root. Now, there is hope that more and more Mabaan people will receive copies of God’s Word in their own language and share the Good News with others.
Praise God with us and lift up Isaiah 55:11 (GNT) in prayer as the Mabaan Bible translation is made available throughout South Sudan:
“So also will be the word that I speak — it will not fail to do what I plan for it; it will do everything I send it to do.”
Thanks to the support of our faithful financial partners, American Bible Society has been engaging people with the life-changing message of God’s Word for more than 200 years.
Help us share God's Word where needed most.
