“When I watch the Thai Sign Bible stories, I feel I am connected with God.”
The Bible is reaching Thai believers who are deaf.
The world is filled with many hidden obstacles, and many people do not realize the language barrier that people who are deaf face. While a Thai Bible is available, many Deaf believers in Thailand struggle to find Scripture in their heart language, Thai Sign Language.
For many people who are deaf in Thailand, trying to read the Bible in Thai keeps them from fully connecting with its message.
“I remember in the past when I was reading Jesus’s stories in the Bible, I couldn’t understand them,” said one woman, Nan.
But thanks to our partners, people in Thailand who are deaf can finally understand Scripture in their heart language.
“Although I could read the written Bible, I don’t really understand the difficult words. The Thai Sign Language translation videos help me to understand the Bible clearly,” signed another believer, Navin.
As Nan signed, “When I watched the Thai Sign Language Bible on video, I was touched by the stories. The body movement helped me to understand. I am looking forward to having more Bible stories translated into sign language.”
One believer named Pang was truly moved. She said, “When I watch the Thai Sign Bible stories, I feel I am connected with God.”
Because of our partners, many people who are deaf in Thailand can find hope in the Bible. Thanks to the ongoing generosity, the Bible is now accessible to a whole new community of believers in Thailand.
