Equipping the Church in China with God’s Word
Christianity is growing rapidly in China, but Bibles are scarce
Lin Cuixin bought a house—not for herself, not for her family, but for God. This native of the Yunnan Province is determined to give others a place to worship and learn about God.
As an adult, Lin was diagnosed with a serious heart condition. That’s when someone told her about Jesus’s love, which gave her renewed hope! She believed in God’s grace and now wants to share the gospel with others.
Lin does most of the maintenance and housekeeping chores herself to keep God’s house ready. Her biggest challenge is not filling the place of worship with people. It is equipping it with Bibles.
Copies of God’s Word in Lin’s village—and throughout China—are scarce. Christianity is exploding in China and people are crying out for God’s Word.
A generation ago, Bibles in China were burned and people were banned from reading them. Now more than 1 million new believers each year are desperate to know God better through his Word. But the challenges are staggering.
Many Chinese Christians in rural areas live on less than $1 a day and cannot afford a Bible.
That is why the commitment of American Bible Society’s financial partners is so critical. We’re working with local churches to provide Bibles and other resources. This combined support is blessing people just like Lin.
Lin says, “For years we had no money to buy one…We give thanks to God for the committed servants who came here to bring us this best gift of Bibles. Now we no longer need to go to the big city or borrow Bibles from one another. These Bibles will help us be more effective in our work here in the church.”
With the continued support of American Bible Society’s financial partners, we can help provide more Bibles for 76 distribution centers across China, offer children and youth Scripture materials and more.
Thanks to the support of our faithful financial partners, American Bible Society has been engaging people with the life-changing message of God’s Word for more than 200 years.
Help us share God's Word where needed most.
