Haiti Donor Report

Since the earthquake over a year ago, more than 300,000 people in Haiti have perished. But, one survivor after another tells of the miracle of God leading them out of collapsed buildings and other tragedies. They cling to Bible verses such as, “Do not be a terror to me; you are my refuge in the day of disaster.” (Jeremiah 17.17 )
We are pleased to report that as of January 2011, the goals of the initial relief project have been achieved — thanks to the quick and generous response of our donors.
The Haitian Bible Society took a holistic approach, providing:
- 200,000 people with Scripture Portions
- 165,000 people with Bibles in French or Creole
- 50,000 people with clean drinking water though Water Missions International
The Need Continues
As relief and reconstruction continue in Haiti, the restoration required is not only in the physical structures and humanitarian efforts, but in the hearts of Haitians who remain deeply traumatized. Pray that as people engage with the Scripture Portions they have received, they will experience the hope and comfort of Jesus.
