“They asked who wanted to receive Jesus as their leader. I raised my hand.”
Sharing God’s Word with new believers in Tanzania.
During the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, hurting people around the world began turning to God for hope and comfort. But in places like Tanzania, many believers faced persecution for their newfound beliefs. People like Mingati* know this well . . .
In 2020, Mingati watched the JESUS Film, which played in a Masai language he understands fluently. He was taken with the message of the Gospel found in God’s Word. He says, “After the film show, they asked who wanted to receive Jesus as their leader. I raised my hand.”
Thanks to our generous partners, Mingati received his own Bible and a way to grow closer to the Lord.
The Bible has inspired Mingati to become a kinder person. He says, “I used to lose my temper easily. My God is helping me to control myself.”
But Mingati still faces challenges, experiencing abuse from old friends who do not care for his new way of life. Even so, Mingati perseveres. As he explains, “I get a lot of assistance from my pastor and Christian friends.”
Mingati decided to be baptized, and he committed himself to attending audio Bible listening groups. He also attends Bible study in his village on Sundays.
We are so grateful to our partners for their continued support bringing Scripture to people like Mingati.
