Prayer Request: 2017 National Day of Prayer for America
Join us in prayer on Thursday, May 4, 2017, this year’s National Day of Prayer in America
American Bible Society invites you to pray with us for the United States in observance of America’s National Day of Prayer.
The National Day of Prayer is held on the first Thursday of each May. It was created in 1952 to call together people of faith in united prayer for America.
This year’s theme comes from Daniel 9:19: “Lord, hear us. Lord, forgive us. Lord, listen to us, and act! In order that everyone will know that you are God, do not delay! This city and these people are yours.”
The Bible inspires us to pray: “And so I say to you: Ask, and you will receive; seek, and you will find; knock, and the door will be opened to you” (Luke 11:9, GNTD). As we pray together on the National Day of Prayer, let’s come with confidence that God will hear, forgive, listen, and act on behalf of those who seek Him!
Pray with us:
- Pray for Bible skepticism to shift in the U.S., leading to greater Scripture engagement and city-based church collaborations.
- Pray for military communities in the U.S. to have access to innovative Bible resources.
- Prayer for unified church outreach collaborations across U.S. cities.
- Pray for Americans to be transformed through deeper Bible engagement through innovative Bible reading tools.
